Looks like we made it! - Day 4!
Sleeping in a parking lot at Cracker Barrel proved to be a little loud, mostly from the Interstate; although it did simmer down and we were able to get some sleep. There were SO many campers, we felt as if we were in an actual campground! Some campers had their generators and were watching TV and relaxing and taking their time waking up in their campers. We woke up, got dressed and went inside to have breakfast. They have the most excellent service there at Cracker Barrel!
Our drive to Reflections on Silver Lake was thankfully uneventful. We have nothing to complain about the whole trip-- beautiful clear roads, very little construction and weather was fabulous! Along the way, we saw the notorious orange groves...
We finally arrived!
After setting up and troubleshooting some hiccups (which incidentally was NOT our auto-level system! -- Go figure-- that worked GREAT!-- it was an electrical issue with the breaker), I took a shower to freshen up and then we rode our bikes all around visiting our old friends. Our friend, Cindy, from New York, who was RVing last year actually bought a place here and now is a permanent snowbird. She was telling me about an alligator that has visited her several times in her back yard!! She also told me about a black snake she found on her countertop in her unit!! Ugh!! I am still freaking out about that! Anyway, it was wonderful to see our old friends and catch up on their lives.
Tonight, after going into Sebring for supplies, we walked up to the clubhouse for a concert. It was a community band that played 40s, 60s, swing, jazz and Latin music -- delightful! I am ready to get my flute out and join them! (Oh yeah-- after I retire...).
During a break, I met a new friend named Diane and her husband, Bill. They are from Ohio and have been coming to Reflections for 14 years and just bought a place 3 years ago. They invited us to coffee and donuts on Wednesdays (this is new to us as we did not participate in this activity last year!)
It will be fun to try new things this year! So looking forward to new memories made!
