Lake Placid, Alligators and Armadillos

Today we drove with our friends to Lake Placid where they have quaint shops and local merchants that come together for a Farmer's Market every Saturday. At one booth, a young woman was selling homemade raspberry chocolate cupcakes with butter cream frosting. She had them decorated so cute and was serving them up in a tiny cast iron pan...irresistible! And it was delicious! She was also selling chicken chili which Linda tried and said it was fabulous.  We had so much fun checking out all the booths and trying samples and seeing so much artistic creativity.

Then we went to Highlands Hammock State Park and took the tram tour!
We saw so much wildlife!
And alligators...
And an armadillo!
Then we went hiking...it is such a beautiful park!
Afterwards we headed back to our resort and made lemon chicken orzo soup with focaccia bread and carrot cake for dessert.  We played games until our friends had to leave us.  They are heading back to Webster tomorrow. We so enjoyed spending time with them!
