Our Last 2 Days...

On Wednesday, we woke up and had breakfast at Cracker Barrel. We took our time and delayed departure until late morning due to weather and freezing rain. We were in Northern Georgia and drove into Tennessee...so beautiful 😍!  We had a tiny bit of precipitation and at times there were some slick spots, but overall the roads were clear and we are so thankful for answered prayers on that end.  Wednesday evening, we ended up landing where we started in Bowling Green, MO at the Circle C campground.  It was SOOO πŸ₯ΆπŸ§Š☃️ COLD!!!!! 7 below zero! It took a very long time to get the camper's temperature warmed up. We did Door Dash and had pizza for dinner and then climbed into a frozen bed and tried to warm up.  We had our fireplace going and Paul even lit our stove to help get more warmth.  I think our furnace ran all night long and eventually it warmed up enough for us to get some shut eye.  In the morning,  we woke up early...

Boondock Traveling

We left Reflections around 9 AM after buttoning up the camper and winterizing it. We drove down side roads going north until finally hitting 75. We had some traffic,  but not bad. We stopped for a picnic lunch...love ❤️ our outdoor kitchen!  And drove til 7:30 PM...stopped just north of Atlanta. Traffic was bad through that area. We decided to stay at a Cracker Barrel. So we had a good dinner and a fine place to shop! I shopped too long, however,  and went out to the truck to put away all my shopping bags and came back to find the restaurant doors hnoad locked!!! So I couldn't get ready for bed. Also the gas station adjacent to Cracker Barrel was closed. I had to resort to using the camper bathroom 🚻  which had already been winterized. I used bottled water to brush my teeth and Paul assured me he had used plenty of anti freeze so it should be good as far as pipes not freezing once we head into frigid temps.   Speaking of frigid temps, the temperature ...

This morning we played pickleball. There were some visitors at the courts this morning. One of the couples at pickleball had their kids come down for a visit and they came to pickleball. My last game today was playing with them. After Pickleball I went to the pool for water aerobics. Donna from Canada fascilitates when she is here. The air was a bit nippy when getting out of the pool, so i hit the hot tub. Then I hopped on my bike and rode to the camper to start buttoning things up for the trip home tomorrow.  We had lunch at the clubhouse ...an All- American lunch where we met a couple from Duluth. And we got to hear from many different people about their states. We met a friendly farmer from Iowa and his wife, Brenda and they have gone every year to visit the Boundary Waters. After cleaning and packing all afternoon,  we left to go to the Cowpoke Watering Hole. Cindy came to send us off.  We sure will miss the people here and the warm 🌞 sunshine! This is th...

Hollis Garden, Cheddars and Family

I had lost my toe ring at the small pool yesterday so this morning after church we walked over to the smaller pool and found it!  Then we hopped in the truck and drove to Hollis park in Lakeland. The park was teeming wildlife and had a beautiful botanical garden as well as a walkway around the lake. It was a beautiful peaceful area. You can't tell from this picture but this goose was ginormous! After walking around the lake, we headed out for lupper with our niece, Christina! We met at Cheddars and enjoyed their yummy flaky buttery croissants! Then we just sat and talked the night away!  Now we are behind and need to get laundry done....tomorrow the packing up begins...
